John Sears is an up-and-coming filmmaker in New York City.
Having first caught Bob Byars' eye with his music video for the Tucson jazz-fusion ensemble, Sylvan Street, John was hired to assist with the editing of the promotional trailer for “The Marquise Project.” His background as a pianist and drummer instilled an acute attention to rhythm, which in turn informs his film editing style. John’s role on “The Marquise Project” has been expanded: he has agreed to edit the entire film as well as provide visual effects consulting.

Harpsichord & Piano
The principal score for “The Marquise Project”, keyboard works by 17th Century court composer Francois Couperin, has been recorded by internationally known keyboardist Paula Fan.
Paula has performed as soloist and chamber musician on five continents. She has recorded seventeen albums and has broadcast regularly for the BBC, National Public Radio, Radio Television China, Australian radio and other international stations.
She has coached and accompanied singers from the world’s great opera houses, and, as a specialist in wind chamber music, she has performed with leading clarinetists at numerous international festivals. With her husband and sonata partner, the late John Denman, she recorded most of the masterworks of the clarinet repertoire.
Currently, Dr. Fan is pianist with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and she is Regents’ Professor at the University of Arizona School of Music.
